A Fun Packed Adventure That You Must Try in The South of Cebu

The South of Cebu is blessed with gorgeous and amazing tourist attractions and destinations that every tourist would love to visit again due to it’s amazing and awesome surroundings.

A day tour to Oslob and Badian would be perfect for those who wants to travel to different places in one day. A Whale Shark and Sumilon with Kawasan Falls adventure is the most ideal tour package you could ever get for a fun packed day tour adventure in the South.

Here’s a simple itinerary from Cebu Tours: 

  • 03:30AM – Hotel pick up from Cebu City or Mactan
  • 06:00AM – ETA Oslob / Eat Breakfast
  • 07:00AM – Swim with the whale sharks
  • 07:30AM – Visit Tumalog Falls
  • 09:00AM – Go to Submilon Sandbar
  • 11:30AM – Lunch (included in the package)
  • 12:30PM – Proceed to Badian for Kawasan Falls
  • 04:30PM – Go back to Hotel in Cebu City
  • 07:30PM – Estimated Drop off Hotel in Cebu City

However, you could also take part of this amazing adventure that awaits you in the South by doing it yourself. Just follow the guide below for those who wants to DIY this adventure.

Getting to Oslob from Cebu 

If you are within Cebu City, just head to South Bus Terminal which is beside the Elizabeth Mall (E-Mall).

Look for the bus that is bound to Bato via Liloan and tell the driver or the conductor to drop you off at the Barangay Tan-awan in Oslob.

From there, you have to register and attend an orientation that won’t took long for you to know what are the guidelines and other stuffs that you must remember for whale shark watching.

TIP: Travel early to avoid the traffic within the City and the crowd in the whale shark watching site since it’s a very popular tourist attraction so expect lots of people will be present.

Getting to Tumalog Falls from Whale Shark Watching 

Ride a motorcycle or habal-habal, as what the locals calls it, to take you to Tumalog Falls.

The ride won’t take hours so it won’t take you long and the driver will surely drop you off at the Tumalog Falls and have fun bathing and taking awesome pics from the area.

Getting to Sumilon Sandbar from Tumalog Falls 

Have a habal-habal to take you to Sumilon Island port at Bancogon Oslob.

Take the ferry that goes to Sumilon Island from there. The ferry to Sumilon Island runs every hour and a half starting at 8:00 a.m. and the last one to the island is at 4:30 p.m. The ferry ride is about 10 minutes.

NOTE: If you’re not staying overnight on the island, be sure take a ferry returning to the mainland by 5:00 p.m., which is when the last ferry back to Oslob leaves.

Getting to Kawasan Falls in Badian from Sumilon Island in Oslob 

Be sure to leave Sumilon Island early so you still have time for the Kawasan Falls adventure, I suggest you leave the island before 1pm so you will still have time for the last stop which is Kawasan Falls and for you to get on the last bus trip going back to the City from Badian.

Take the boat that goes back to Bancogon Oslob from Sumilon Island.

Ride the bus that goes to Bato first, when you arrived at Bato, take the bus that goes to Badian or Cebu City (via Barili).

Tell the conductor or the driver to drop you off at the Kawasan Falls.

Getting Back to the City from Kawasan Falls 

Once you are doing enjoying your time in the South of Cebu and it’s time for you to get back to the City, you just have to be on the opposite side of the road from Kawasan Falls’ entrance and wait for a bus that is bound to Cebu City to pass by.
